While Blaze is active while moving, it cannot be cast on the move, making the Sorceress stop briefly to cast it. Specializing in Blaze is a dubious choice given its low damage and cumbersome use, but it is not necessarily useless if unlocked early: for example, Andariel and Duriel can be kited and taken down with this skill due to the former's negative Fire Resistance, their lethal close combat attacks and the layout of their chambers (although doing so may take quite some time due to mediocre damage of the skill). Most effective in small rooms where enemies will be forced to follow you, as well as situations where a Sorceress needs to escape from pursuing enemies, Blaze is not a very direct offensive move. Once cast, Blaze creates a wall of fire behind the Sorceress for every step she takes.
Although it is useful in the early stages of the game, this skill becomes less effective and a little more dangerous to use as enemies become tougher to kill and deal more damage. Like Fire Wall, it leaves a trail of fire hazardous to foes however, it is considerably weaker than Fire Wall.
